斯腾伯格(Robert J. Sternberg)生于1949年。1972年获耶鲁大学心理学学士学位。1975年获斯坦福大学心理学博士学位。现任耶鲁大学心理系教授,美国心理学会普通心理学分会和教育心理学分会主席,兼任《心理学学报》《美国心理学杂志》、《教育心理学杂志》、《人类智力国际通讯》和《世界认知教育和媒介学习杂志》等刊物的编辑。|斯氏是位多产作家。编著(或与他人合编):《人类智力心理学的进展》(1-5卷)(Advances in the Psychology of Human Intelligence》, 《人类智力手册》(《Handbook of Human Intelli-gence》),《认知发展的机制》(《Mechanisms of Cognitive Development》),《人类的能力:信息加工观》(《Human Abilities: An Information -Processing Approach》),《超越IQ:人类智力三元论》(Beyond IQ: A Triarchic Theory of Human Intelligence》, 《知觉和认知手册:思维与问题解决》) (《Handbook of Perception and Cognition: Thinking and Problem solving》).《思维技能教学:理论和实践》(Teaching Thinking Skills: Theory and Practice》),《认知和课程设计》(《Cognition and Curriculum Design》),《创造性的实质》(《The Nature of Creatity》),以及《人格与智力》(《Personality and Intelligence》)等书。撰写的论文达四百余篇。先后荣获美国心理学会授予的为心理学作出积极贡献的卓越科学奖,多元试验心理学会的卡特尔奖,全国天才儿童学会的知名学者奖。以及美国教育研究学会为其所著的《超越IQ:智力三元论》所颁发的杰出著作奖
