社会认知理论经常被广大学者误解为行为主义研究范式的延伸，属于新行为主义理论阵营，其原因是他们忽视或未理解社会认知理论中的关键概念和研究范式。文章采用社会建构主义的五个基本特征来分析社会认知理论，发现其基本研究范式、关键性概念和心理的建构与社会建构主义理论一致，因而社会认知理论应该是属于社会建构主义理论阵营。
