刚刚过去的5 0年, 是教育管理学理论快速发展的5 0年。先是教育管理科学论独占鳌头, 继而是教育管理主观论、教育管理价值论、教育管理批判论及教育管理整合论先后形成并与之分庭抗礼。起初, 教育管理学理论整体上以客观主义为取向, 着重事实效率的探讨, 随后, 教育管理学理论转向主观主义, 越来越重视价值伦理的探讨。
